World Mental Health Day at Work: What NYC Teams Are Planning for October 10
World Mental Health Day lands on Saturday, October 10 in 2026 — which means most companies will mark it during the workweek of October 5–9. If you're the person on your team responsible for planning something, here's the honest truth about timing: the companies that book their activity in August choose their date; the ones that wait until late September take what's left.
Soundawn offers sound baths in Brooklyn and Nutley, NJ, and brings corporate sessions to offices across NYC and New Jersey — and October is, every year, our most requested corporate month.
What is a good World Mental Health Day activity for the office?
The best World Mental Health Day activities are ones employees can simply receive — no performance, no sharing circles, no participation pressure. That's why guided sound baths have become the go-to for HR and People teams: everyone lies back on a mat (or sits, in work clothes, at their desk on Zoom) for 60 minutes while crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes slow the room down. Wellness webinars get skipped and lunch-and-learns get eaten through, but a sound bath is felt — and that's what people talk about afterward.
It also scales in a way most wellness activities don't: the same session works for a team of 12 in a conference room or hundreds across a distributed company.
What happens in a sound bath session?
A sound bath session begins with grounding breathwork, then moves into a full sound immersion — crystal singing bowls, gongs, and layered tones washing over the room — and closes with a gentle return to the day. Corporate sessions run 60 minutes on-site. There's nothing to learn and nothing to get right; the most common feedback we hear from first-timers is surprise at how deeply they let go in the middle of a workday.
Teams at Google, Meta, Audible, PayPal, Jefferies, the Guggenheim, and the Tory Burch Foundation have brought Soundawn in for exactly this — and we've performed for an audience of thousands at Radio City Music Hall, so a packed all-hands doesn't faze us.
How much does a corporate sound bath cost in NYC?
On-site corporate sound baths with Soundawn start at $1,050 for teams up to 20, with tiers at $1,250 for 21–40 people, $1,550 for 41–99, and $2,050 for 100+. Every session is 60 minutes, in your office or venue, across the NYC metro area and Northern New Jersey. Fully virtual sessions start at $500 — the simplest option for remote and hybrid teams — and you can add live streaming to any in-person session for a flat $350, so nobody on the team is left out of the reset. We provide a W-9 and COI, which makes procurement painless.
Details and the current rate sheet are on our corporate sound bath page.
When should you book an October session?
By early September. World Mental Health Day concentrates months of corporate wellness demand into a single week — October 5–9 — and those dates are always the first to go. Booking is simple: send a corporate inquiry with a rough week and team size, and we'll hold a date while the details settle. If October doesn't work, the same session lands just as well as a Q4 reset any week of the fall — or as a virtual sound bath whenever your distributed team needs it.
FAQs
What do you wear to a corporate sound bath? Whatever you wore to work — comfortable clothes are ideal, but no one needs to change. Shoes come off, that's the whole dress code.
Does it work over Zoom? Yes — virtual sessions are live (never recorded) and run on Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams. Participants just need headphones and somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down.
How much space does an in-office session need? Enough floor space for your group to lie on mats — a cleared conference room or open area works. We bring the instruments and handle setup.
Can we book this through a wellness or L&D budget? Yes — most of our corporate clients do, and we provide a W-9 and COI to make approvals easy.
