FOUNDER AND SOUND HEALER

Meet Natalie Chan

For eight years, Natalie has guided hundreds of sound baths across New York — from intimate at-home gatherings to a 300-person stage at Pier 57, and most recently the stage of Radio City Music Hall.

THE PATH HERE

Healing as both an art and a practice

Natalie Chan founded Soundawn in 2018 to bring deeply restorative sound experiences to New York City. What began as a quiet practice has grown into hundreds of guided sessions — for couples and small circles, for grieving and postpartum bodies, and for the global teams at Google, Meta, Audible, the Guggenheim, and beyond.

Her foundation is unusual by design: a degree in Philosophy from UT Austin and Photography from SVA, layered over more than a decade of Ashtanga yoga, and sound therapy. She approaches each session the way an artist approaches a canvas — composed, intentional, never templated.

Rooted in ritual, resonance, and reclaiming rest.

Every sound bath begins with an energetic reading of the room and ends with an intuitive closing — something each guest carries home long after the bowls go quiet.

HER SIGNATURE RITUAL

No two sessions are ever the same

BEFORE

Energy check in

Natalie tunes into the emotional landscape of the room, quietly reading where support is most needed before a single bowl is played.
DURING

A Curated Symphony

Crystal bowls attuned to the chakras, a grounding bass chime, an oceanic sound waver, and a 19" gong — layered live into a one-of-a-kind soundscape.
AFTER

Integration & Closing

A tuning fork at the crown, a brief head-and-shoulder release, and an intuitive tarot reflection to carry the calm home.
A RARE CONSTELLATION

The instruments behind the symphony

Seven Crystal Singing Bowls

Attuned to the chakra system for full-body resonance.

19" Deep Gong

Opens and closes the energetic field of every session.

Ocean Sound Waver

Mimics natural oceanic rhythms to guide the breath.

Energy Rain Stick

Awakens subtle flow and movement within the room.

G Major Bass Chime

A low, grounding wing tone that settles the nervous system.

Crown Tuning Fork

Smooths lingering tension in the closing touch ritual.

IN THEIR WORDS

What people carry home

★★★★★

I had a truly magical experience at Soundawn Sound Bath Center. My friend and I did an hour-long private sound bath for two and it was an amazing way to spend the afternoon. Natalie was so welcoming and accommodating, and the space was quiet, private and very comfortable. She tailors each sound bath to the client and was happy to explain why she chose what she did. We were totally relaxed by the end, and I wished it could have lasted another hour. I think this is a great way to decompress, center yourself, or just a fun activity to do with a partner or friend. I would love to go back for a group sound bath and I've already purchased one as a gift for another friend!

★★★★★

My experience with Natalie was AMAZING—truly the best word to describe it. She hosted a Yin yoga and sound healing experience for my “Embrace Your Inner Goddess” birthday celebration, and it exceeded every expectation.

From our very first conversation to the final moment of the session, Natalie was incredible. She immediately brought thoughtful ideas to the table, including a beautiful manifestation segment and ending the experience with tarot card readings. She truly listened—to me and to my friends—offering insight, perspective, and such a calming, grounding presence.

Natalie guided us into the deepest level of relaxation and connection. In her, you’ll find a yoga instructor who goes far beyond teaching poses—she creates an experience. I truly couldn’t recommend her more 🥰

Natalie hosted a sound bath for a 250+ person event that I helped plan. She was so easy to work with, accommodating and our attendees felt incredibly refreshed after the sound bath. Highly recommend!
